Problems with FunPidgin 2.4.1

Just as I'm another user severly annoyed by the attitude of Pidgin developers and switched to FunPidgin, I've promptly hit several problems that I'll describe below :

- activating manual resize plugin (it took some searching to find it) becomes effective only after program restart, as opposed to how most plugins work under pidgin

- Prefs->Funpidgin options : activating the send button only works after program restart

- send button has an ugly green icon. how do I turn off that icon ?

- the upper part of the conversation window, where the recent pidgin UI shows status and buddy icon only displays "-".
No status information is visible
No buddy icon is visible
I found no way to turn these on.

- when only one conversation window is open, the tab bar is not visible and the name of the buddy is shown only in titlebar (which may not even be displayed on some window manager settings)

It's a bug, but fixable. Go into the Preferences, Funpidgin tab, make sure the "Buddy icon size" is a decent number (32px perhaps, or 48px), then hit ok. You may have to reopen the IM window, but that should fix it. The problem is, since it's an undefined variable initially, it has to be given a value, otherwise it will just default to 1px.

Check the Features page, it lists "Options to always show and/or expand tabs. (SVN)", meaning the options you're looking for are in the SVN, but not in the current binaries. The code is done, just not available unless you want to compile the latest version yourself.
