Pidgin->Funpidgin on Ubuntu
Hi,
I'd like to remove pidgin on my Ubunutu 8.04 desktop and install Funpdigin. I assume to do this, I need to do the following:
1) go to synaptic, search for 'pidigin'. remove everything that is installed.
2) Download the .deb file for funpdigin
3) Install the .deb file
Is there anything else I need to do?
I'd also like to be able to save my accounts. Is this possible?
Thanks,
Kyle
You only need to remove pidgin and pidgin-data packages. All your account settings are kept in the .purple in your home folder, and funpidgin uses the same folder, so if you do not delete it, you will be able to use similar settings.
