come on, people, this is a real shot stopper! And the fix is only a couple lines. I tried to compile it myself but make died with some strange errors. Can't you just release a .deb with the fix as pidgin did days ago?

I'm also hoping this will be

I'm also hoping this will be fixed soon. I'll just have to reinstall pidgin again if it won't, but I'd much rather not do that. :)

Nobody's going to just make

Nobody's going to just make that deb after 4 days? I'm back to Pidgin, sorry guys.

still no debs after 2 weeks

still no debs after 2 weeks and the sources won't build on my ubuntu system even though configure runs fine?? back to pidgin

2.4.3 STILL DOESN'T CONNECT TO ICQ

I downloaded the sources of carrier-2.4.3 and compiled the in Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron.

Everything seems fine, but I still can't connect to ICQ!

Do I need to change something else ? Before building / running 2.4.3 I uninstalled the old version (funpidgin).

1) How did you get carrier

1) How did you get carrier 2.4.3 to compile under hardy? Any special steps apart from installing the libs, configure, make, make install? In particular, did you have any trouble with libtool?

2) You could try applying the patch for pidgin. Since pidgin and carrier are 99% the same there shouldn't be a problem. You can find it at http://nosnilmot.com/pidgin/pidgin-2.4.2-icq6.patch
But I thought they already did that...
