Taskbar and System Tray Options
This probably doesn't concern non-Windows users. I don't know how others feel about this, but personally, I never liked the fact that Pidgin takes up space in the taskbar when it's already occupying space in the system tray. Could Funpidgin developers please consider adding a checkbox option that looks something like this?
Show Funpidgin In:
[ ] Taskbar
[x] System tray
I just fired up my pidgin app in windows and clicked the x on the buddy list window when everything was loaded, and the taskbar space disappeared, but the tray part stayed. I am not sure exactly what you are suggesting.
What I'd like to see is an option that links message windows to the (fun)pidgin system tray icon, to that I can click the system tray icon no only to appear and disappear my buddy list, but also any open messaging windows. Said windows would then not show up on my taskbar thingy, and if they updated, then the pidgin tray icon to flash instead.
I think that is what this request is about.
shellster: Yes, but there's no way to keep Pidgin from taking up taskbar space if you want to keep your buddy list window open, which is what I think the original post had in mind.
Ideally, it would be awesome if this could be set independently for message windows and the contact list
I'm very used to this feature in Trillian, so I'd love to see it make it to Carrier/Funpidgin
