Subgroups

Subgroups

On feature of Trillian that people miss is sub-groups. Granted, not as many, but it is a great feature to have.

For a quick example, I am a college student. I have several friends and even professors' screennames. My ideal setup would be a group named "College", and sub-groups named "Dormmates", "Profs", and "Other".

Pidgin devs have decided not to add this feature: http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/925
Their reasoning is that since most official clients don't support it yet, implementing it would only allow the sub-groups to exist on one computer and have to be moved manually, or require hacks that make any other client unusable.

My suggestion is to add it as computer-specific, with some sort of note that says such. Also, for the official clients (using my above example), an option to sync all of them as either the top-level ("College"), or their specific subgroups.
