Has anyone tried finishing & compiling this plugin for Windows? I'd really like to use it. Development on it started like last year when Sean was talking about how easy it was to implement.
It is easy to implement and in fact it is improved upon and included in Carrier 2.4.2.
Unfortunately, WebKitGtk, the library on which this improved IM window rendering relies, is not yet complete enough for Windows. As you can read on the front page, the Windows release of Carrier 2.4.2 is delayed until such a version of WebKitGtk is available (which we were told would be soon enough to hold up the whole release).
That is unless someone's successfully compiled that plugin on Windows and wants to share how ;)

Actually the news post indicated that it should be any time now.
that post was more than a few months ago.
Good point, that post was old. So I wonder what the hold up is.
