Could you add xStatus icon feature to funpidgin? There is already a patch for version 2.4.0, but it isn't perfect yet (on graphical side). http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/4508

Me too. :) Only Kopete 4.x.x has this feature under Linux, but it is too unstable now. :( It would be great to have it in Pidgin. :)

Some of my friends use windows clients throw wine just for this feature, so it wuold be really nice to have it
Yes, extra status icons are important, but thing which is probably more important is an extra status text message. It's a different from ordinary status message, and I think it will be great to see this feature implemented in this project.

Great, I love it when there are already patches out for certain features.
As for me, it can be the most amazing feature for this fork!
In Russia many people use ICQ and for this people it will be the killer feature! Promise!!!!

Agree, I'll definitely switch to FunPidgin as soon as this future will be implemented in it even if it would take me to compile the program from source by myself.
Added to funpidgin as of SVN revision 29. You can see them in the buddy list where the music/mobile icon usually is. And set them in Accounts -> [your icq account] -> Set Custom Icon.

We've used free/open source icons from both pidgin emoticons and the Silk icon set by Mark James ( http://www.famfamfam.com/lab/icons/silk/ ). I hope most of them are immediately recognizable :P
This X-Status only works between ICQ5 clients (ICQ5.1, Kopete, Funpidgin, QIP?, etc.). It will not work when a buddy is a user of ICQ6.

Looks great in rev 31, however:
1) It will be great if status icon will be visible somewhere on the window, not deep in the menu

1) +1. But I can't think of any place to put it. Maybe if there was an Info Panel on the top or smthing like that (as in amsn, emesene etc.) or instead of drop down menu on the bottom for status there was a status bar like miranda's...
2) icq6 and qip (infium) users can read my status messages (as far as I know). And as my friends use mostly those I'm not really worried about it, but it would be nice, if that feautre was added.

I think this looks good. This enormously large drop down menu looks pretty ugly...

Now, Ex-FunPidgin have a great attracting name - Carrier, BUT original Pidgin for today have a possibility to return resizeable sending-window. (http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/5296)
So it's time for Carrier to make some really useful things and improvements into Gnome-Messengers and then transition of thousands pidgin-user to Carrier wouldn't take much time.
