Enable "Don't hide IP address" in ICQ (or any other protocol)

I would like to be able to have an option to show the IP address to people in my contact list. Some relatives occasionally need help with their Linux boxes and it is very convenient to know the address and be able to start ssh/vnc without asking them to find out what their current address is. I currently use kopete and sim for that purpose, but would like to use carrier instead.
