Easy way to install plugins?

New feature - A simple way to add plugins! The way now isn't that bad, but it would be great if there was some file extension that could be associated with Carrier IM so that you could click on a link on a website and install a plugin, or download the plugin itself and double-click on it to install.

If part of this format allowed for version information and a URL, it would be possible to integrate auto-update at the plugin level.

This type of functionality has been made somewhat standard with Mozilla.
