Chat History Logging - Needs to be Per contact bases/One log file for all...

Hi,

In pidgin, logging of chat history is per session which sucks actually. Because it makes new file on every session and i have tons of numbers of file though they all are of small sizes.

Rather then making it per session, it should be per contact bases. Means one log file for each contact.

Or sqlLite base DB log file for all log as Gajim does. Right now i am using gajim for jabber, pidgin for msn, gmail and yahoo. Because in office i need to talk more and so i want one log file.

So please consider this as a first thing in features or enhancements :)

I'd like to see

I'd like to see one-per-contact log files. It was one of the big things that bothered me when I switched from AIM to Pidgin.

Another Suggestion

In case of history, i would say, that in pidgin working with History implemented just terrible!

When i'm opening a journal window, i can't click on "Full Size" button and search what i want comfortable, because this button just didn't exists. So, i have to manually resize this window to fit the screen. This process takes time and "killing nerves".

Second, about search itself in history journal, there is an option to search needed text only with "case sensitive" symbols. Should i say gave an example of how this non-obvious behavior can make LOTS of trouble at searching?
I'm sure, that you can tell many same examples yourself! (:
Especially because culture of writing in IM-messaging is absolutely not the same as it in books or other strict-manner texts.

History: one-per-contact log file.

Most wanted feature. Really.

There is a plug-in for Pidgin

There is a plug-in for Pidgin called Old Logger that does what you guys are looking for. It's in one of their plug-in packs but I haven't gotten it to work for the Windows distribution of Carrier. If anyone can get it to work, let me know ;)
